What a horse barn, arena or shop costs in Weatherford
Most barn and metal-building contractors quote only after a site visit. Two builders serving Parker County publish numbers on their own websites, and those are the only figures on this page. They are builder-published ranges and starting points, not quotes, and they move with steel prices, pad work, and finish level.

A third listed builder, CLA Metal Buildings, deliberately publishes no prices and explains why on its cost guide: steel pricing moves with the market, every site is different, and what one builder includes another excludes. Its list of cost drivers is the most useful thing on this page.
What actually moves the price in Parker County
- Sitework and pad. Acreage rarely comes ready to build on. Clearing, grading, a compacted pad and drainage come before the slab, and the Cross Timbers mix of sandy, clay, rocky and caliche ground changes the excavation and the footing design from one tract to the next.
- Foundation. Slab versus piers, slab thickness, and whether the builder self-performs concrete or subs it. Post-frame builders embed posts; steel builders pour a foundation first.
- Wall height and span. Arenas are clear-span; the longer the span and the taller the eave, the heavier the frame. One builder cites a 115 mph design wind speed for Parker County, and the frame is sized to whatever your stamped drawings say.
- Openings and insulation. Roll-up and sliding doors, windows, insulation or spray foam, and interior finish separate a shell from a finished building.
- Utilities. Electrical must be done by a TDLR-licensed electrician; a long run from the meter, water to wash bays, and lighting for an arena are commonly excluded from a base price.
- Septic and floodplain. If the project adds plumbing on an unincorporated tract, Parker County's on-site sewage permit is $480 and requires a licensed site evaluation; development in a special flood hazard area needs a $200 floodplain development permit and a lowest floor two feet above Base Flood Elevation.
- Sales tax. With an Ag/Timber number, stalls, corral panels and troughs are exempt, but the Comptroller lists materials for "general storage barns, sheds or shelters" as taxable. Ask which line items the quote treats as exempt. Details on the ag exemption page.
Where quotes hide exclusions

Financing
Two listed builders publish financing: Texas Metal Experts through its lending partner HFS Financial, and Miller's Metal Buildings through Lyon Financial. Kinney American Barn Co. states it does not offer financing and refers customers to lenders; CLA Metal Buildings states it is not a lender and explains construction and construction-to-permanent loans through your own bank. The rest do not state a position.
